Due to the flexibility of the service, all children do not arrive and leave at the same time, nor do children stay similar lengths of time. Some children stay for the full day and others part thereof. There is a constant coming and going of both adults and children.
We have three play rooms and an outdoor Kinder class room. The larger room is primarily occupied by children 3 years plus. 3 and 4 year old kinder operates throughout the day with a program specifically for this age group. The other rooms are primarily occupied by the 0-3 age group. All rooms are coordinated by Diploma qualified staff and assisted by Early Childhood Educators.
The smooth running of the Centre evolves around effective communication, which is all important in this service. Staff may move throughout the Centre during the day, with continuity of care being a priority.
The needs of children are met through child focused routines that are developmentally appropriate, promote a sense of predictability and allow flexibility. Routines are seen as learning experiences and promote confidence. Transition between routines and experiences are planned to proceed in an individualised, orderly and relaxed manner.
We are fortunate to have excellent facilities and equipment, including very inviting outdoor facilities. We also have an extended outdoor play area, which enables us to offer another alternative with our activities e.g. rolling balls down the slope, climbing on stepping stones, a digging patch etc. |
